"Ameren has been doing business with GCT for 18+ years. The SLA on our server infrastructure is one of the most stringent in the industry. It requires a guaranteed on-site response time with all parts required to repair any Intel-based server. Additionally, the SLA includes 65 sites in a 3 state area, server models from several hardware manufacturers, and multiple generations of each brand. Strict security requirements for site access add additional challenges, including FBI background checks on service personnel.
When we originally put this out for RFI, I did not think that most national service companies and Factory Service organizations would be able to accommodate the proposed SLA, and I was doubtful that a small local organization like GCT had the resources to bid. GCT responded with a comprehensive plan that was significantly lower in cost than all other bidders. As a small independent contractor, GCT has been able to adapt fast to our growing and ever changing network environment. The flexibility of their organization allows them to add & deploy manpower where needed, and adjust service parts inventories as new server platforms are added and obsolete models retired.
GCT also provides more complex services including full server restoration from tape, advanced hardware and OS configurations, and server deployments and upgrades at very attractive prices. GCT became a one stop shop for all of our server needs. Over the years, GCT never failed to respond to a need and continues to exceed our expectations."
